A little about us:
Salena (left) and Karol (right) met during their pre-service training (PST) in Madagascar. After playing the card game “Trios y Escaleras” they instantly bonded. Their friendship helped them overcome the roughest times during service; while celebrating each other successes, and basically anything in between. They even took an epic Close of Service (COS) trip through 7 different countries! Karol and Salena loved and enjoyed their service so much that they wanted a chance to “shoot the wind” with other RPCVs about their Tales and reminisce about simpler times!
Salena is currently living in California where she is working on her career as an instructional designer, with an artistic outlet of creating upgraded board game pieces. After many years abroad, Karol decided to go back to her home country, Colombia, where she is working to start her own NGO focused on menstrual education and leadership for young girls. Thank you for listening to our podcast and Thank You to the RPCVs who share their Tale with us!! Those of you who are interested in joining Peace Corps we hope these episodes help bring some light as to what it may be like. But be warned, no two stories are alike. Thus take everything you hear with a grain of salt when thinking if this is the path for you. Just go in with no expectations and you will not be disappointed! |
